Gravatar Great, I'll get reading later.

Gravatar Great poetry... Good list...

Gravatar thank you for honouring me thus, madam.

Gravatar Thank you for the great comment. You have a treasury of substantial work here, I will visit often.

Gravatar I love the humour in The Unlucky Apple
Your blog is a special place, pity I can't visit often as I'm on holiday, but I make sure I pop in whenever I can.
This is a great list, thank you.

Gravatar Wonderful blog presents. This will definitely make rebuilding my link list from the computer crash more fun.

Enjoyed the other poems you shared below the links, especially the first.

I realize I've been spotty in visiting. So glad you're still writing because I need my UU or SLC fix!

Gravatar thanks for sharing, you offer open up so many great poetry sites to visit. there are many days i wish i did not have to work and just sit and read them all --- have a beautiful Holiday Season ---

Gravatar oh, you've included christine's 'Lament for Federico Garcia Lorca' - i love it!

maligayang pasko!!!!

Gravatar Jo,, have fun!

Leon, hullo there. Welcome to my site. Feel free to browse through these links or to check out those in my sidebar, for more poetry reading. Cheers.

Shug, my pleasure. I meant every word of my comment on your poem.

Michelle, thank you for dropping by. I'm delighted to read an update on your blog. (I have a soft spot for poems about dogs, so thank you so much for sharing your latest poem.)

Gravatar Bomi, yes, these Dunbar poems with witty humor make my day every time I read them. He has several dark-themed rhyming poems, also in my favorites folder. Your every visit is appreciated, dear. Much obliged.

GEL, thank you so much.

Barbara, I hope the coming holiday eases up your schedule for more time with family and friends. The reading can wait; these links will stay here for a long time, no worries.

Odessa, Christine's poem, with its two versions, is indeed a keeper. I hope you enjoy the others as well, for leisure reading during the holidays. Maligayang Pasko din. (hug)

Gravatar Thank you!! I always love reading your poetry and the links you suggest. If you recommend someone, I definitely read!

At first glance, I see Christine Swint and Scot Young, and they are excellent poets. I will look closely at everyone else, too. Thanks for the great reading material! "Confirmation" is hilarious.

Gravatar thank you for sharing

Gravatar by George, I think you have the start of a tradition here! fear not, i won't tell anyone.

off to click and read...

Gravatar Hiya S.L, Thanks for much inspiration this year. Best wishes for the new one. Cheers.

Gravatar Thank you for the recommendations, when I get the time I would certainly love to delve deep into these words.

May I recommend you something? "Love is a Dog From Hell" by Charles Bukowski. Order it on amazon and you will not be disappointed. It is probably my favorite poetry collection.

And the 2 poems at the end of your post are most excellent.

Take care!

PS. and I left comments on your other posts as well. Sorry to not have been by in a while, but things are terribly hectic at the moment.

Gravatar very nice idea, i am gonna check them now and look at your own stuff.

Gravatar Julie, thank you for the vote of confidence! (big grin)

Maggie, you're most welcome.

Kim, heehee. I don't know if I'll continue this as a monthly thing or not. I'll probably give it a rest for a month or two. Hmm.

Brad, many thanks! Have a blast this New Year's Eve!

Eric, I appreciate the visits and the comments. I've been away from the blogosphere, too, for the past two weeks -- a sort of holiday break from blogging. But I've just posted my last entry for 2008, with a little extra.

Utopian Fragments, much obliged.

Gravatar Thank you for the links.

I'm already familiar with Christine's wonderful Lament for Federico Garcia Lorca and I've just read Melissa Crowe's How to Pray Without Ceasing (2). Very clever.

Gravatar Honoured to be included in your blog list. Apart from Christine Swint, the other bloggers are new to me. It's always good to find new sites.

Gravatar Thank you so much for including my poem in your list.

I really liked The Unlucky Apple as well. Great surprise at the end!

Gemma/Dymphna

Gravatar I'm finally back in front of a computer after a two week hiatus. I printed out this list of poems to take with me on vacation ... seems your recommendations are now part of my reading repertoire. Hope you have a great new year ... Keep doing how you do it, S.L.!

Gravatar Great stuff as usual and I really love the Dunbar poetry, thanks for sharing.

Bob

Gravatar Michelle, Bob, glad to hear you've enjoyed the read.

Watermaid, Dymphna, my pleasure.

Henry, oh, you did? Wow, that is the biggest compliment. I'm so happy you've thoroughly checked out this list; it does take more than just time to compile these links, so your supportive message has really made my day.

Please be advised, though, that -- as mentioned in my reply to Kim's comment (disregarding the word 'probably' in my statement) -- I'm giving this recommendation thing a rest for now. But I will resume doing it in the near future. In the meantime, I'll be posting photos in between poems. Cheers.
