Doctors have very explicit rules of prescribing. Any pharmacist has an obligation to question precriptions that are in any way - out of order. I recall a physician prescribing Viagra - up to twice daily for a patient who was taking nitrates - also prescribed by that doctor. The pharmacy refused to fill it, they reported the doctor through proper channels and within days the state board of medicine was knocking on the door. That's the way it is supposed to work. Unfortunately, pharmacists are overworked to the point of danger, it takes a death or terrible injury to get the state board of medicine to react and a few doctors are lenient with "special patients". they also protect one another in most instances.This is a microcosmic look at Bushworld. There, the little dishonest acts are winked at if committed by a wealthy Republican, jail is the result if you are poor or powerless and the rules don't count. Use this little Rush story and apply it to the military, to Katrina disaster relief, to the environment and a pattern emerges. A nasty little boil that has spread to every sort of institution. Try it - regulartion - perverted in favor of the wealthy or powerful - ignored by regulatory boards and it is the end of a certain kind of civilization. I hope someone finds out who Rush "visited" on his little trip. Perhaps that will gain the outrage necessary to finally show what he is and how his life is simply a sample of typical Republican hypocrisy.

Oh, wow, I just got it!!. All of Limbaugh is about a certain kind of envy. It drove his resentment of Bill Clinton, it drives his fear of liberals everywhere. Everything is about his resentmentof those who "can" as opposed to those who must have a bit of intervention. As a female, I usually just laugh, but this is tragic - Freud would be proud. There is a bit in the Bible that has been translated poorly to avoid the fact that one of the Patriarch's proudly proclaimed that his bit of manliness was bigger than anyone else's. Col Kilgore - I disagree that this is a witch hunt. Limpdick is on parole for drug charges. Just like everyone else in that circumstance, he gets special attention when it comes to drugs. Now, it may be that all of those people in this circumstance are being subjected to witch hunts. But, he was told the rules very clearly. He chose to, at the very least, skirt them, knowing that the authorities would be keeping a close eye on him.

After all, unless you use your real name, you are anonymous, right? Doesn't it mean that if one chooses to call oneself "X" you should consistently call yourself "X" in the thread. And if one chooses to consistently identify oneself in a thread as "anonymous," doesn't that comport with this policy? If I'm wrong about that, sorry. In case if someone wouldn't know:
Viagra is NOT a controlled substance.
In fact, it is not even scheduled (as in 1 to 5). It is totally legal to carry anyone's non-scheduled medication. Otherwise, you could go to jail if your grandmother asks you to bring over her Penicillin and you get "caught" while "possessing Penicillin".
That's ridiculous.

The current issue is about nothing else, but the frustrated prosecutor's attempt to embarras Limbaugh that he is using Viagra.

Even the original case was a farce. I am an OB-GYN physician, practicing for 24 years. Not less than 5% of my practice are doctor shoppers for narcotic medications. It is very frustrating. Countless times I tried to talk to the authorities, and the response is always the same: "there is nothing we can do".

Can anyone show me ONE other case, where somebody got in trouble for doctor shopping?
