First, thank you. I was thinking, since we really don't want to pit ourselves against each other and this should be fun, why not have a bunch of gun blog categories with a blog only able to be nominated in one.

Best gun news aggregator.
Okay, I threw in that last one so I might stand a chance to win something.
Anyway, this way a lot of gun bloggers could carry some banner on their site proclaiming they won something.
Forget awards, it's for the (all in fun) egoboo of it.
Now, of course Countertop, you'd have to program all of this into your site...
In fact, some other categories just occurred to me (so that almost everyone wins something...)
Best range reports
Best Professional (non-blog) gun website (which would be quite a compliment seeing as the voters (us) are all firearm enthusiasts).
Best firearms discussion forums
Best commentary
et cetera.

For blogs themselves, I'd just ask for nominations NOT in the TTLB GunBlog Community and throw the whole list open for Best GunBlog.
I like Jeff's idea about separate categories; it'll be fun just watching the WECSOG Blogs compete, though Head probably has it in the bag of sawed up AK parts.

In other news, Jed at Freedom Site is complaining that his comments here were rejected for too many "links." Sorry bout that, not sure how to fix the problem. Of course, I can never comment on his site cause whenever I try to enter my log in info (or retrieve my password) I get a 404 File Not Found entry.

Luckily, I've never really had too much of a spam problem here. In almost 3 years of blogging I've had probably 10 spam posts total.
I have had some nasty moonbat gun banning bigot comments left though.
Of course, no one ever leaves comments here anyway so . . . . when it happens, its relished.
